🎶 Music With Purpose - A Night That Stays With You.

We’re creating one of those nights that stays with you —
music with purpose, and people we love in the same room —
all to raise funds for the children of Ventanas Venezuela.

Each ticket represents a child.
Truly.

This is not just a concert.
It’s a movement. ♥️

A Flute That Embraces a Continent

Latin Grammy winner Huáscar Barradas returns to Boston with a flute that feels like it’s telling secrets — stories of roots, rhythm, nostalgia, and fire.

Joined by an extraordinary circle of musicians:

Together, they will travel musically through the Americas, gently landing in Venezuela — celebrating a continent through sound.

Music for the world. 🌎

With special collaboration by Guataca Boston, helping bring this project to life.

A Concert With Purpose

This evening continues our support for educational projects in La Guajira, where Venezuelan and Colombian refugee children face enormous challenges but possess limitless potential.

It also marks the relaunch of a deeply meaningful project we founded in 2017 alongside toxicologist Dr. César Rengifo: Metal Decontamination

Children living near oil refineries are exposed to as many as five toxic metals. Many of these children face neurological challenges that were never their fault.

Through this initiative:

  • More than 120 children completed treatment

  • Many returned to regular school

  • Families regained hope

  • Childhoods were restored

Sanctions paused our work.
But they never stopped us.

Now, we begin again.

🌎 Why This Event Matters

At Ventanas, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream — regardless of borders.

La Guajira is home to thousands of displaced Venezuelan and Colombian children facing food insecurity, limited access to education, and deep social challenges.

Through community-based programming, Ventanas works to:

  • Provide educational enrichment

  • Deliver nutritional support

  • Foster artistic expression

  • Create safe, empowering spaces for children

By attending this concert, you are helping open a window of possibility for children who need it most.

Music for Medicine.

Love With Responsibility.

A little crazy? Of course.
Believing we can change things always is. ♥️

But this is who we are.

Ventanas exists to open windows — to possibility, to dignity, to health, to education.

This night is about lifting spirits while doing real, measurable good.

It’s about rhythm and responsibility.

Art and action.

Celebration and commitment.

Library Without Light

They have the books. They have the desire. But when the sun sets, everything stops.

🏠 Inside La Casita, Something Beautiful Is Happening

In the heart of Villa del Sur, La Casita — our community library and cultural center — is filled with children eager to read, learn, and dream again.

Every day, children gather here to:

  • Learn to read for the first time

  • Catch up on years of missed education

  • Discover music, art, and storytelling

  • Build confidence through theater, teamwork, and values

This is a space built for transformation — and it’s working.

But there’s one thing missing: light.

🌙 Why This Fundraiser Matters

When the sun sets, La Casita goes dark.

  • After-school tutoring stops.

  • Theater rehearsals end early.

  • The library sits full of children… and shadows.

And as the days grow shorter, so do their chances to keep learning.

But with your help, that’s about to change.

⚡ Our Goal: Light + Dignity

This fundraiser will help us install:

Electricity in La Casita

  • Safe, consistent lighting for evening learning

  • Power for fans, devices, and future technology

A Functioning Bathroom

  • Dignity, safety, and accessibility

  • Better hygiene for students and volunteers

📊 What It Will Take

Item Cost Estimate

Electrical Wiring & Fixtures: $1,200

Construction of Bathroom: $2,000

Plumbing + Water Access: $1,500

Labor & Logistics: $1,300

Total Goal: $6,000

We’re aiming to raise the full amount by Summer 2025, so that no child has to leave the library because the light ran out.

YORDANO “DESPUES DE TODO”

Heroes are everywhere, and in many forms. Yordano Di Marzo, is one of them. His music brought the audience back to an unforgotten and treasured era of the beloved Venezuela. A wonderful and nostalgic evening that gifted the treatments and resources needed for children with cancer. VENtanas, through Fundanica, a non profit foundation that aids children with cancer in Carabobo, will supplies chemotherapy treatments and oncological surgeries for children of underserved communities who depend of our donations. Some of our treatment recipients were featured on a large screen, excited to deliver their message of gratefulness and love to an audience who was brought to tears.

Our unmeassured appreciation to the attendees; to the volunteers who devoted so many hours to make possible a memorable, successful and rewarding evening; to the generosity of our sponsors; to the musicians from the Boston String Academy; to the loving and accommodating staff of Tremont Temple; to Yordano and Yuri for their love to the cause, and to the faithful and incredibly committed team of VENtanas.

🎗 Supporting Children with Cancer: A Partnership Rooted in Hope

The funds raised through this event were directed toward life-saving cancer treatments for children in Venezuela with strong prognoses and the potential for full recovery — because we believe that when a child has a fighting chance, we must do everything we can to make that chance count.

Rather than starting from scratch, Ventanas chose to amplify the impact by partnering with Fundanica — a respected and long-standing nonprofit founded in 1995 in Carabobo, Venezuela. For nearly three decades, Fundanica has been providing critical medical and emotional support to underserved children battling cancer, ensuring that families facing impossible odds don’t have to walk the journey alone.

Through this partnership, the funds were used to:

  • 💊 Procure chemotherapy and specialized medications not readily available in Venezuela

  • 🏥 Assist with treatment logistics, nutritional support, and follow-up care

  • 🤝 Help families cover transportation, tests, and other out-of-pocket costs associated with long-term cancer care

This initiative reflects the heart of Ventanas: identifying where children are suffering most and responding with compassion, care, and collaboration — not just once, but for the long haul.

Because every child deserves a chance to heal, to grow, and to dream again.

🧬 Healing What Can’t Be Seen: Dr. Rengifo and the Fight Against Metal Contamination

Dr. César Rengifo, a respected Venezuelan medical toxicologist, has spent years working on the frontlines of an invisible crisis — treating children exposed to toxic metal contamination in the heavily industrialized areas of Paraguaná and Maracaibo, Venezuela.

In these regions, home to some of the country’s largest oil refineries, children were unknowingly absorbing high levels of heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury. The results were devastating: neurological disorders, severe behavioral challenges, autism spectrum symptoms, and developmental delays that robbed these children of a normal childhood.

Dr. Rengifo’s work — in partnership with Ventanas — offered a way forward.

Using hair mineral analysis and lab testing, each child’s exposure profile was carefully assessed. From there, Dr. Rengifo developed personalized detoxification protocols designed to remove harmful metals while supporting each child’s nutritional and neurological recovery.

Many of the children treated were finally able to focus in school, reconnect with their families, and — for the first time — feel like themselves again.

💛 Where the Funds Went

Thanks to the generosity of our early supporters, funds raised from this initiative were used to:

  • 🧪 Cover the cost of hair mineralogram testing and diagnostics

  • 💊 Provide customized detox treatment plans for affected children

  • 🧠 Support children with autism and neurological conditions linked to metal toxicity

  • 📈 Monitor progress and reintegrate many children into mainstream education

This wasn’t just a medical intervention — it was a restoration of hope, health, and potential for over 120 children.

Though this project has transitioned into a maintenance phase, its legacy lives on in everything we do: science-backed, heart-led work that places dignity and healing at the center of every story.
